Christmas Eve

Wednesday 24th December 2008
The Café was busy today, although not as busy as it has been the last couple of days, the shopping centre was very busy with people too busy filling their shopping trolleys to worry about stopping for Coffee.
Ian managed to get out of the Café at about 5.30 pm after all the cleaning had been done, he stopped on the way home to pick up Fliss and Aimee who are staying at our place for a couple of days so that they have an excuse to behave like kids.
Ian picked up the meat this afternoon, needless to say, more than enough to satisfy the seven of us for the next two days, we have got King Prawns, Boned, Rolled and Stuffed (seasoned) Turkey Breast, Sausages and Rissoles, according to Fliss we must have Rissoles.
In the afternoon Carolyn made a load of salads up, ready for use tomorrow so that she doesn’t spend all day in the kitchen, after all, the kitchen on Christmas Day is a Mans job, it has to be really, we want Christmas dinner to be special.
In the evening we went to Stilts for a drink and were virtually the only people there, in the UK the place would have been heaving, with drunken revellers falling all over the place.
Talking to Craig the Manager, apparently it is just the way the Aussies organise their Christmas, they spend Christmas Day at home and the go on holiday on Boxing Day, the resort was virtually empty tonight but has no vacancies for the next couple of weeks from Boxing Day.
We were all home and in bed by 11 pm, anxious not to miss Santa.
