The kids took Fliss to the cinema this morning, they went to see Ice Age 3 and they thought it was great, they love being around Fliss it makes them feel mature.
Today was our worst day at the Café since we have been there as far as staff is concerned, at one point earlier in the week it looked like it was only going to be the two of us and one Saturday girl working which would have been a nightmare.
Fortunately we managed to talk one of the other Saturday girls into working and started another who had been looking for a job with us for a while, she is a friend of one of the Saturday girls and was warned that she would be doing nothing more complicated than washing up and carrying out food orders.
It was busy but we survived and the new girl did well, we did cheat a bit though, we produced a Saturday menu which didn’t feature the more time consuming dishes and that meant that we could just about keep on top of it when it got busy.
We will be keeping the new Saturday menu in place every Saturday from now on.
