Scouts Sausage Sizzle

Sunday 17th May 2009
This morning we were up early, not much later than we would normally get up during the week and all because we volunteered to do the Sausage Sizzle outside Bunnings this morning to raise money for the Scouts.
Talk about a Busman’s Holiday, we spend all week cooking and being polite to people with thought of a day off on Sunday as our only respite and we spend it cooking and being nice to people.
It wasn’t as busy as we thought it might be and the 250 Sausages and Rolls that we had to sell turned out to be about 50 too many, but we also sold cans of Drink, Chocolate and the Cup Cakes that we had made yesterday and took just over $700 which was not too bad.
We finished the Sausage Sizzle at about 1.30pm and took the leftover Chocolate and Cake home before going down to the foreshore for a well earned rest and a cup of coffee.

Ugh. The things we do for our kids. Never mind. It will be worth it at the other end when you don't have to fork out so much to send them away for a bit.
