Easy Like Monday Morning

Monday 9th February 2009
Putting the Ice Cream and Slushie machines back together yesterday made Ians life so much easier this morning, whether he’ll give up his Sunday family time every week to do it is another story but at least we know how to take the stress out of a Monday morning.
It was a fairly good day in the CafĂ© today, a couple of times we were a bit stretched, Carolyn would have had to work virtually all day if it hadn’t been for the timely intervention of Marisa.
It was a phone call from the school, Marisa had damaged her elbow at school while swinging on the monkey bars and needed to see a doctor.
When Carolyn took Marisa to the doctor they said they couldn’t do anything about it without an x-ray, if the doctor asks for an x-ray to be done for a patient it costs the patient a couple of Hundred Dollars. Carolyn took Marisa to Accident and Emergency without a letter from the doctor and didn’t have to pay, they did have to wait about four hours to be seen and x-rayed though. After all the waiting, they could only confirm that she had hurt her elbow but didn’t know what is wrong with her.
We still haven’t decided what we are going to do about replacing the staff hours that we have lost with people going of to University and TAFE (college), until we do decide how many hours we have available the staff we have will be working longer hours and Carolyn will be doing a lot of hours as well.
Kristian was supposed to go to Cubs tonight, Carolyn took him there and waited for quite a while but gave up when no leaders turned up..
After the kids had gone to bed we watched a film called Flawless with Demi Moore and Michael Caine, Carolyn picked it and Ian was a bit sceptical about it, Carolyn, until recently didn’t have a very good track record when choosing films, also he thinks Michael Caine is a bit over the edge now and should be watching films from the comfort of his rocking chair rather than making them.
As it happens, it was a very good film, a very clever plot and whilst it won’t go down in the annals of history as an all time great, it was a very good watch and we recommend it.

I'm listening to little tips like this and storing them for the husband. I'm not entirely sure he knows what he's let himself in for...
