Cub Camp

Friday 20th June 2008
Fraser is a happy chappie today because Marisa and Kristian have gone on Cub camp, he is really looking forward to the undivided attention.
We all arrived at the Cub meeting hall at 6pm expecting everything to be there waiting and ready to go, alas this is Australia and they are a little bit more laid back than that. Akela was 10 minutes late and he was the one that organised it, then the trailer had to be loaded with all their bags of clothes, sleeping bags and foam mattresses. It appears to be compulsory over here that if you go camping you need a foam bedroll to make sure that you are nice and comfortable of a night, what a load of wimps!
What happened to the good old days when you used to go camping and if you didn’t have a crick neck or a stiff back for most of the day you were lucky, the kids today, they don’t know they were born.
The group going on camp consisted of 2 Adults, 2 Girls and 5 Boys, they ended up leaving 30 minutes late and had a 2 ½ hour journey to look forward to. The campsite is somewhere we have never heard of along the South West Highway wherever that is, tonight they are sleeping in a shed because it will be too late and dark to put the tents up, the temperature is also going to be somewhere round Zero degrees.
Fraser has decided that while Kristian is away he is going to make the most of it and sleep in his bed rather than the camp bed that he normally sleeps in, we still haven’t managed to find a bed for his room and although he doesn’t complain it can’t be the most comfortable thing to sleep on.
