You Can’t Call A Sherriff That

Monday 8th June 2009
It was a quiet day at the Café today, we were hoping it was going to be a busy one like last Monday as the street was closed off again, but alas it wasn’t to be.
Marisa was absolutely exhausted this morning despite having had 12 hours sleep, Fraser was tired but coping a bit better.
Kristian was supposed to have his investiture at Cubs this evening, but unfortunately for him, one of the other Cubs has been diagnosed with Swine Flu so he and another one are in quarantine, the mother of that one would also normally give a lift to another couple, so they didn’t turn up either.
That left Kristian who wanted to be invested and two other kids who are yet to be invested, so they postponed his investiture until the Troop is all present again and Kristian came home, disappointed after he had put so much effort into memorising the Cub Scout Oath.
After the kids had gone to bed we watched Blazing Saddles with Mel Brooks, another one where the sense of humour of yesteryear is markedly different from today and you certainly wouldn’t get away with calling a Sherriff that, nowadays.
